Octave Horn Stabs (vol. 1) - for Ableton Live
Are you tired of looking for horn stab, but they all sound cheesy and fake? Me too! That's why I created this Ableton Instrument Rack, Octave Horn Stabs (vol. 1). I used recordings of real horn stabs that I tracked and mixed for a project years back, and built them into this playable MIDI instrument for Ableton Live, so now you can use them too! This instrument includes:
- 10 Macros to professionally dial the mix and vibe
- 17-key range from C1-E2
- Built-in Reverb Switcher
- 5 Snapshot Presets for quick access to my favorite settings
- Information on all Rack controls in Ableton Live's "Info View" pane
Energetic horn stabs hitting a single note in unison octaves is one of my favorite things to add to beats, but it is always challenging for me to find samples of horn stabs that are well recorded and sound real. Next time you want to add a horn stab texture to one of your productions, try this out. It will sound real, because IT IS!
INSTALLATION
- Download the Ableton Project and open the .als file that corresponds to your version of Live.
- Click the "save" icon at the upper right-hand corner of the Instrument Rack to save it into your Ableton Browser and User Library. It will then be available in your Ableton Browser at the following pathway: User Library > Presets > Instruments > Instrument Rack
- I recommend assigning it a color and adding it to your Collections library in the Ableton Browser for quick access.
COMPATABILITY
Ableton Live 11.3, 12, 12.1, 12.2
NOTE: The Saturation Macro is only included in versions of Live 12 as it controls the newer saturation device, Roar.
