Mixbus Processing Rack - Ableton Live (all native devices)
Take your final mixes to the pro level with this carefully crafted Mixbus Processing Rack! Doing some further subtle processing to the finished mix is called mixbus processing, and it can REALLY elevate a mix and make it feel more pro, polished, and "like a record." Over the years I have developed a mixbus chain that consistently gets outstanding results, and I have meticulously recreated a version of it using only native Ableton devices.
The range of each Macro is set to stay in those subtle sweet spots so even when pushing this to the extreme, you can't ruin your mix. That said, you can easily get too heavy-handed with what your mix really needs to shine right, so remember that with mixbus processing, less is more! This rack includes:
- 12 Macros for full Mixbus Processing control
- Custom ranges for each Macro to stay subtle and in the sweet spot
- Built-in parallel compression (PC) and multiband (MB) compression
- Tasteful multiband saturation (only available in Live 12)
- Snapshot Presets for instant settings that often work well
- Information on all Rack controls in Ableton Live's "Info View" pane
INSTALLATION
- Download the Ableton Project and open the .als file for your version of Live.
- Click the "save" icon at the upper right-hand corner of the Rack to save it into your Ableton Browser and User Library. You will then be able to access the Rack inside your Ableton Browser at the following pathway: User Library > Presets > Audio Effects > Audio Effect Rack
- I recommend assigning it a color and adding it to your Collections library in the Ableton Browser for quick access.
COMPATIBILITY
Ableton Live 11.3, 12, 12.1
NOTE: The Rack for Live 11.3 has less features than the versions for Live 12, as multiband saturation with the device Roar wasn't added until Live 12. If you will be using this Rack with Live 11.3, please remember to update to one of the Live 12 Rack versions whenever you finally update your version of Ableton to Live 12. The multiband saturation I built into this Rack for version 12 and up is the sauce!
